Craig Ullmann, P.E.
Craig started working at Applegate Group after earning a master’s degree from Colorado State University in 2000. During his time at Applegate Group Craig has worked on a wide variety of raw water infrastructure projects including dam design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, dam breach analysis and a variety of dam rehabilitation projects. Craig has also worked on several canal rehabilitation projects including canal lining, head gate reconstruction, pipe installation, inverted siphon design, canal modernization and flow measurement structures. Experience includes feasibility studies, final designs, construction and bid document preparation, and contract administration.

Steve Smith, P.E.
Steve has 20 years of experience in water resource engineering and hydrogeology. He has recently worked on hydraulic modeling, sediment transport, fluvial geomorphology, water rights, municipal water supply master planning, and groundwater analyses/modeling. He has successfully guided clients through permitting compliance related to NEPA, ESA, and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. He has completed water rights engineering support for clients, including water rights analysis, accounting, and augmentation plans. Steve completed a B.S. in environmental geology from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Colorado. He joined Applegate Group in October 2012.

Jared Dains, P.E.
Jared began working with Applegate Group, Inc. in April 2007 and obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado shortly thereafter. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado in 2013. He has assisted on a wide variety of projects including substitute water supply plans, augmentation plans, water right evaluations, hydropower studies, and groundwater supply modeling. He has experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.

Tyler Desiderio, P.E.
Tyler obtained a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Resource and Forest Engineering from SUNY ESF, and shortly after graduating he left his hometown in Pennsylvania and headed west to the great state of Colorado. Tyler joined Applegate Group in 2013 as a water resource engineer and has worked on many projects that include dam rehabilitation design, breach flood inundation studies, 2D & 1D flood modeling, reservoir feasibility studies, spillway integrity analysis, hydrology studies, canal lining/piping design, canal structure design, slope stability analysis, and many other elements related to raw water and irrigation infrastructure. He also has extensive software experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS 5.0, HEC-HMS, Windam B, RocScience Slide6, EPANET 2.0, and VBA and Python programming languages. Since joining Applegate Group Tyler has earned his professional engineering licensure in the State of Colorado in December of 2017.

Dave Breindel, P.E.
Dave started with Applegate Group in 2015 after relocating from Virginia, where he spent 5 years as an environmental consultant concentrating on water resources engineering and environmental remediation. His previous experience includes involvement with projects related to stormwater management facility design, dam safety studies, site plan development, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit compliance, construction/contractor oversight, and industrial site remediation. Since joining the Applegate team, Dave has worked on a variety of water infrastructure projects, focusing on dam design and rehabilitation, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and canal rehabilitation. Dave has also assisted with feasibility studies for new reservoir storage, permitting compliance in support of infrastructure projects, cost estimating for Capital Improvement Projects and the design of micro-hydropower systems. Dave has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Penn State University.

Teresa joined Applegate Group, Inc. in 2002 as the Chief Financial Officer and has financial and business operations responsibilities at the firm. Teresa brings over 30 years of experience working with Water Resource consulting firms in the Denver area. She graduated from Regis University with a Business/Accounting degree.

Tim Horn
Tim joined Applegate Group in 1997 as a AutoCAD Tech and later moved into the IT/System Administrator role for the company while continuing to do CAD work. He also maintains and configures various water measurement sites that AG manages for its clients.

Abdullah Javed, E.I.
Abdullah joined Applegate Group in 2019 while finishing his Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering at Colorado State University. Abdullah is involved with projects that include water rights evaluation, substitute water supply plans, augmentation plans, water right accounting, water infrastructure design, and ArcGIS mapping. Abdullah holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Lahore, Pakistan. His previous experience includes road construction, project management, groundwater modeling, water resources planning and management.

Steven joined Applegate’s Western Slope team in the fall of 2020. He graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2013. Steven has worked in many capacities in agricultural enterprises over the years, gaining much experience with on-farm irrigation design, installation, and management. He is especially excited to aid in Applegate’s efforts to improve water delivery systems to agricultural water users on the Western Slope.

Wes Hogan P.E.
Wes joined Applegate Group’s Denver office in fall of 2022. He graduated with a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 2020, has a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Southern Illinois University. Wes’ previous consulting experience includes landfill design, geotechnical engineering and tunneling, and instrumentation and remote data monitoring. Since joining the Applegate team, Wes has been involved in water rights evaluation, augmentation plans, water rights accounting, water infrastructure design, and ArcGIS mapping.
